Meet our Faculty, Short Course Presenters and Staff.

We are proud to introduce our faculty of experienced, educated and committed Pilates Method professionals. Given the faculties experience, current knowledge in exercise science, injury rehabilitation and sports specific conditioning, your time spent developing your skills at National Pilates Training, will lead you to a successful career within the Pilates industry. Our passion and enthusiasm for the Pilates Method only enhances your experience.


Along with her extensive qualifications Katrina Edwards (Adv. Dip. Pilates, Dip. Dance, Cert IV TAE) has an extensive background in classical ballet and the Pilates Method.

Kath Banks is the owner of Aligned for Life Pilates Moonee Ponds, which has been servicing the Moonee Ponds and Essendon area for over 15 years. Kath is also one of our continuing education short course presenters.

For Kath the Pilates Method is vital for maintaining a healthy body where all joints are actively challenged through their full range of movement, with control, contributing to great strength. This is crucial for both the prevention and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries & conditions.

Helen New

Helen New is one of our Faculty Educators and Presenters for National Pilates Training. Helen is also the Principal Practitioner of The Pilates Method and Owner/Manager of Precision Pilates in Parkdale. Helen is also one of our continuing education short course presenters.


Chantel started Pilates while studying at The Australian Ballet School under the guidance of Andrew Baxter. With a 15 year career as a ballerina with the Hong Kong Ballet and English National Ballet, she danced the lead roles in Swan Lake, the Nutcracker and many George Balanchine works, as well as dancing for the Queen at Buckingham Palace, on the main stage at Glastonbury music festival and in the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympic Games.

We have hand-picked our staff to make sure the service to our clients is delivered seamlessly across the board. We have a number of wonderful people working in our different departments to help make the National Pilates Training experience excellent for all involved.


Atsuko completed the Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (10537NAT) at National Pilates Training in 2016, and has been supporting National Pilates Training’s activities in Tokyo, Japan.

Having had a very active lifestyle including running and gym workouts, Pilates has been the best method for her not only to strengthen her body but to maintain a balanced body and mind, especially when she was living a busy corporate life and during pregnancy.


Danielle has been nursing for over 10 years. Danielle first started participating in Pilates in 2003. She was so inspired by the benefits of the Pilates method that she went on to train to be an instructor after returning from working in the UK.

Danielle commenced her Certificate IV in Pilates Instruction in 2009, and went on to study Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction in 2010.

Lorraine began participating in Pilates classes six years ago, after giving birth to her second child. Pilates became an integral part of Lorraine’s training program to complement her running, management of injuries and balanced cross-training routine.


Kellie first started participating in Pilates in 2000 at Origin Pilates in Prahran.

With over 10 years’ personal experience in Pilates, including training through two pregnancies, Kellie has developed a passion for Pilates and a strong appreciation for the strength and stability Pilates brings to the body and everyday life.

Anna Kelman

Since 2009, Anna has enjoyed the physical and mental benefits Pilates offers, and is delighted to be working at an organisation where such a strong focus on mind and body health is put into practice daily.

We are extremely happy to have some industry specialists on board as short course presenters. Our presenters at at the top of their field and we are excited to be able to offer you the opportunity to participate in their short courses through National Pilates Training.

Sally Anderson

Sally is presenting her dynamic ‘Pilates Method Immersion’ series for National Pilates Training in 2018.


Maggie Macgill is one of our highly experienced and dedicated Continuing Education Presenters at National Pilates Training.


Sandy is an business counselor and mentor, author and TEDx presenter. She is the founding director of Get It Right Online and Why You Must Blog and founder of Australian charity, CreateCare Global. Through her business, Get It Right Online, Sandy works with business owners to get clear on what they need to do to become a key person of influence in their industry.

Paula Baird Colt

Paula Baird-Colt is an innovative dance-movement specialist who has based her practice on extensive experience as a performer, teacher and producer in the dance profession. Paula’s in-depth knowledge of classical ballet technique and dance repertoire has provided her with a foundation to provide analysis, program development and implementation required for an elite dancer to remediate and maintain safe movement practice.


For the better part of a decade Benjamin dedicated himself to his career as a fine dining chef, both here in Australia and in Europe. Accumulating years of 60-plus hour weeks being hunched over a bench, he developed chronic lower back pain and was forced to wear a brace on a daily basis just to accomplish simple daily tasks.
