Students can undertake Advanced Diploma of The Pilates Method (10839NAT) as a full qualification or progressively through the following three Pathways detailed below.
These three Pathways can be completed as individually discrete micro credentials progressively completed, not in any particular order to articulate into the full Advanced Diploma of the Pilates Method (10839NAT).
Advanced Rehabilitation in the fully equipped Pilates studio Pathway
The purpose of ‘The Advanced Rehabilitation in the fully equipped Pilates Studio Pathway’ is to develop critical thinking and clinical reasoning strategies specifically addressing the needs of moderate-high risk rehabilitation. As a student graduating from this pathway you will be able to implement strategies for programming for moderate-high risk rehabilitation for return to activities of daily living, physical activity and sports/art performance.
Business Management Pathway
In the ‘The Business Management Pathway’ you will develop essential skills to support the role of managing a business and or opening a business. You will understand essential frameworks and structures that can be implemented into practise upon graduation from this pathway with the ability to support the personal and professional growth of staff and business for a sustainable future.
Advanced level Repertoire in the Fully Equipped Pilates Studio Pathway
The ‘Advanced level repertoire in the fully equipped Pilates Studio Pathway’ is designed to equip the learner with the skills and knowledge to advance the practise of the Pilates Method for a wide and specialised client population. This includes an understanding of high-level conditioning for sports specific and elite level training. In this pathway the learner will develop strategies for programming and application across the fully equipped studio to support performance enhancement for all types of clients.
Online – Live Zoom Delivery
This student will be self directed for the essential knowledge acquisition in the NPT eLearn and supported for the desired building of practicable skills with the “Live Zoom” scheduled sessions in the form of Repertoire Practice Sessions & Tutorials working alongside peers, coached and mentored by our knowledgeable and highly experienced NPT Senior Faculty. This student, choosing this method of delivery, enjoys social contact, interacting with peers, receiving feedback, wants the support and coaching from our NPT Senior Faculty in reaching their desired outcome in a reasonable timeframe.
Students completing Live Zoom studies must also undertake a number of either simulated or real work experience.
In-Person

Business Management Pathway

Successful completion of this course will mean you will be competent in:
Pilates exercise planning, programming and instruction for the rehabilitation of clients with moderate risk musculoskeletal impairment or special conditions
Pilates exercise planning, programming and instruction for rehabilitation and the return to sport, dance and recreational activities
Working under guidelines set by, and in referral with medical or allied health professionals in programs or services related to client injury rehabilitation, health conditions, and underlying pathologies
Physical examination and musculoskeletal assessment
Pre-Pilates repertoire applications across all apparatus for client progression, modifications, specific interventions, and therapeutic care
Business Management Pathway

Manage or administer a Pilates studio practice, with responsibility for supervising and managing staff
Provide mentoring support to colleagues
Advanced level Repertoire in the Fully Equipped Pilates Studio Pathway

Successful completion of this course will mean you will be competent in:
Pilates exercise planning and programming for elite sports or dance conditioning and specificity training for performance enhancement and athletic development
Pilates repertoire for Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, Barrels and Small Apparatus at a late intermediate level
Ability to adapt and modify the repertoire to suit individual needs and enhance training specificity

Advanced Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (10538NAT)
Work placement
Work placement hours are practical hours devoted to applying what you have learned in the course in a studio environment. All students will commence with observation, and are then cleared to commence teaching type work experience on an individual basis.
For Advanced Diploma students, work placement can be completed at your principal place of work or an affiliated Studio that has attained our Work Placement Facilitation Site (WPFS) accreditation.

Our senior faculty all hold the Advanced Diploma qualification and our specialists in the areas of the Pilates method, high risk rehabilitation, elite sports conditioning and scoliosis.
Direct Credit (DC), Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Current Competency (RCC)
Recognition will be given for skills and knowledge gained in other courses, life experience, or training. DC, RPL and RCC assessment may include a variety of methods such as portfolio, practical test, demonstration, interview or a combination of these methods.
